toronto for my "reading week".

As  mentioned before, I went to Toronto last week for a little retail therapy with my mom, sister and step-dad but then when they left Sunday night I went to my father's house in Mississauga, Ontario and spent some quality time with him for the rest of the week! Since I grew up in Toronto and all of my extended family live there it is always such a fun time and I never want to leave!

I apologize for not really having that many outfit posts or touristy Toronto pictures as I forgot my camera a lot ... I hope you still enjoy looking at them though and I promise the next time I go somewhere I won't forget !!

Just in case you were wondering where I like to shop in Toronto, here are the places that I went to:
Holt Renfrew (It's like the Saks of Canada!)
Aritzia (No trip to Toronto is complete without shopping there - it's a boutique store that sells Free People, J Brand and their house brands TNA and Talula which would be a cross between Alexander Want and Elizabeth and James!)
Capezio (A shoe store that sells Jeffrey Campbell and Steve Madden)
Over the Rainbow (They have the best designer jean selection in the city!)
TNT BLU (Another boutique store that sells pretty much everything you can find on!)
Of course I also made stops at my staples:
Urban Outfitters
Forever 21

Here I am on our second night having a little fun in the hotel with my little sister, Zoe!

That night I took my sister to see Justin Bieber's new movie "Never Say Never" in 3D and Zoe just loves popping out the lenses to the 3D glasses and rocking the nerdy look so I gave it a try !

What I was wearing:
Zara Hooded Fur Vest
Zara Knit Sweater
J Brand Pencil Jeans in Heritage
Steve Madden Fold-over Desert Booties

Here is my sister and step-dad as we walked down to brunch:

the first music monday.

Today marks the very first (of hopefully many) music Monday's ! For my first music post I wanted to share with all of you one of my favorite musicians/artists: Adele. Her music and lyrics have always spoke to me and her voice is just so incredible I hope that you all love her as much as I do!

The first time I heard of Adele was when I turned 19 years old because she just won the Grammy's for best new artist and so naturally I was curious as to what her music was like since I had never heard of her before! I always thought that it was really cool and you will probably think I am nerdy because of this but I found it a little funny that her debut album was called "19" and I was 19 years old. But then when I found out Adele's sophomore album was coming out in February 2011 and was going to be titled "21" things got even nerdier for me because that's when I was to turn 21 years old! Okay I know it's a little lame but that's my story and now you know how nerdy I am for Adele!

My favorite songs on 19 are "Best for last", "Daydreamer" and "Melt my heart to stone". And on 21 my favorites are "Someone like you", "Rolling in the deep" "Set fire to the rain" and "Don't you remember".

love actually.

So I feel awful for not posting in a while as I was super busy and honestly I was also really nervous to really take off on this whole blogging thing. But I promise that I am over my "cold feet" and ready to jump into this with everything I've got! I LOVE blogs and blogging so much and I hope that you keep visiting! With that said you should see a huge surge of posts in the next couple of weeks - I am actually leaving to go to Toronto tomorrow to have a little retail therapy with my mother and sister as well as to spend time with my dad who I haven't seen in a while. So be sure to check it out!

On the topic of love, Valentine's day was this past Monday and as much as I think the holiday is really unnecessary, a girl always says what she doesn't mean !! And I think my boyfriend definitely knows that about me after 4 years of being together! We had an incredible day together that was full of surprises and it really did remind me of how much I love him and value our relationship.

What I wore:
Top Shop Sequin Shirt
J Brand Pencil Jeans in Ink
Pelle Moda Platform Shoes
Marc Jacobs Coat
Michael Kors Jet Sport Watch
Tiffany & Co. Silver Ball Bracelet
Tory Burch Purse

crazy for leopard print.

As you may have deduced from the name of my blog, I am absolutely crazy for leopard print! It is without a doubt my favorite pattern and print (well that and I guess cheetah print is quite similar!) Now thanks to my best friend, Victoria who got me these adorable barrettes for Christmas I get to wear some leopard print in my hair almost every day! Besides that I have a number of other leopard print accessories and you can usually find my phone or computer background to be rocking it as well ! If you are like me you probably tend to wear a lot of black or white or gray and sometimes it can get a little boring and so adding a little leopard print scarf or purse can really glam up an outfit! Honestly, if I have learned anything over the years it's that accessorizing can really make an outfit. It can turn your plain white t-shirt and jeans into something appropriate for almost any occasion !

day of action.

Yesterday was probably one of the most exciting and awe-inspiring moments I will ever have had at university! I participated in student protest against the government who is looking to increase Nova Scotia university tuitions by 3% and also cut down on university funding by 4%! Even though this does not effect me because I am graduating in May, I did it for my friends who are still in school or who are continuing on with their educations. Plus, participating in a protest has always been something that I've wanted to do so now I can cross it off of my bucket list! It was honestly one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had and will always remember it as a pivotal moment in my youth - hope you all enjoy the pictures and get inspired to fight for something you believe in : )

a new era.

Welcome to My Leopard Spots
So today marks a very special day because not only am I starting my very first blog but it is also my 21st birthday! I figured that it was the perfect time to start something new in my life and this was something that I have been thinking about doing for some time now!

I spend hours upon hours every day looking at things to inspire me - from clothing to recipes to music to love. Hence, this blog will be about all the different spots in my life that make me who I am. Plus anyone who knows me knows that when I find something that makes me happy that I must share it right away and try to get them to be as inspired as I am!

Well since Audrey Hepburn is the most inspiring woman to me I want to end my first post with a quote by her that has been my personal mantra for quite some time,
"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."
